MONDAY 23 /11/15

THE JACK TARS / CHRIS SUMMERILL

Doors: 7pm // Tickets: £17.60 (inc. booking fee) // Alt-Tickets

THE JACK TARS
www.facebook.com/thejacktars

From the four corners of the globe they came, from England, Wales, Australia and the United States, sailing under one flag – The Jack Tars. And who are these Jack tars, you ask? None other than Captain Sensible of The Damned, Slim Jim Phantom of Stray Cats, Chris Cheney of The Living End, and Mike Peters of The Alarm. A band of brothers reincarnated from the souls of dead men, The Jack Tars are destined to plunder the treasures of their collective past to create a new synergy of rock and roll forged from the bones of punk, rockabilly and modern alternative rock.

CHRIS SUMMERILL
www.chrissummerill.com

Chris Summerill is a being of pure rock’n roll energy from Aberdare in South Wales. Chris started off playing on his own armed only with an acoustic guitar; the only doctrine he followed was play anywhere. He has certainly done that, as well as playing all the usual and unusual pubs, clubs, bars, charity do’s and festivals he’s also played front rooms, shops, college auditoriums, a couple of Greek taverna’s, a yacht, a library, an old people’s home, a prison and even the summit of Mount Snowdon.

WEDNESDAY 25 NOVEMBER

BEARTOOTH / STRAY FROM THE PATH / ’68 / BLOOD YOUTH

Doors: 6:30pm // SOLD OUT

BEARTOOTH
www.facebook.com/BEARTOOTHband

Collaborative creativity can produce brilliant results, but there’s something almost otherworldly about what emerges from the minds of remarkably talented artists, the types who’ve lived many lifetimes in a short period, left to his/her own devices.

As much as Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure or Foo Fighters (particularly on that first album) are considered “bands,” they brazenly exhibit the precision focused passion of a specific person; often a person bursting at the seams with something to say. BEARTOOTH began and in many ways continues to be such an artist, bubbling forth from the psyche, soul and complex emotions buried in multitalented instrumentalist and songwriter, Caleb Shomo.

Beartooth shares equal inspiration with brutal metalcore as with old-school punk like The Ramones and the bombastic theatricality of Queen. The end result is a back-to-basics hardcore stomp that would get the crowd moving at a Hatebreed or Terror show, interspersed with a steadfast determination to give equal importance to anthemic choruses.

STRAY FROM THE PATH

THURSDAY 26 NOVEMBER

NOTHING BUT THIEVES

Doors: 6:30pm // SOLD OUT

NOTHING BUT THIEVES
www.nbthieves.com

In an era where tracks are produced by committee and honed by focus groups, NOTHING BUT THIEVES are a rare beast indeed – a band with the talent, integrity and vision to create heartbreakingly beautiful music entirely on their own terms.

NOTHING BUT THIEVES’ origins lie in schoolmates Conor (vocals), Joe (guitar) and Dave’s (drums) efforts in a variety of bands in their hometown of Southend, Essex.
Inspired by artists as diverse as Ray Charles and Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire, they gained valuable experience on the local live circuit, even if they weren’t going to change the world. Then Dom joined their school in the sixth form and everything went up a notch. A classically trained guitarist from the age of six, Dom brought a musicality and learning to the table which made everyone sit up and take notice.

FRIDAY 27 NOVEMBER

THE NATURALS – ‘HIVE’ ALBUM LAUNCH SHOW / OLIVER WILDE / DWELL

Doors: 6:30pm // Tickets: £6.75 (inc. booking fee) // Alt-Tickets

THE NATURALS
www.thenaturalsmusic.co.uk

The Naturals are a band from Bristol, England. Initially formed in 2004 before any of them were even in their teens, The Naturals create a sound that is as textural as it is deafening. They can make guitars sound like anything, and often do; sometimes delicate, sometimes brutal, sometimes sanguine, but always beautiful. The Naturals have spent their teens slowly but surely building a reputation that has led to them being widely regarded as the best up and coming band in Bristol, having schooled themselves in Geoff Barrow’s (Portishead) State Of Art Studios and honing their craft on the local gig circuit. Live shows are incendiary, drilled yet anarchic, equal parts sonic overload and hushed tones, distinctively natural, distinctively them.

OLIVER WILDE
www.facebook.com/Oliver-Wilde-304445432985648

Oliver Wilde is a pure audiophile in the truest sense of the word. Since first coming to wider attention with his 2013 debut LP, A Brief Introduction to Unnatural Lightyears, the ascendant Dabchick producer and songsmith has littered the British musical landscape with miniature moments of wonder, delight and headphone escapism.
