Scientist (born Hopeton Overton Brown in Kingston, Jamaica, 1960) is a legendary Jamaican recording engineer and producer who redefined dub reggae in the 1980s. Nicknamed “Scientist” by producer Bunny Lee for his brilliant technical mind, he learned electronics and acoustics as a teenager and pushed the creative boundaries of the studio.
