Originally set to represent Ukraine in 2020’s Eurovision Song Contest with their song – ‘Solovey’ – Ukrainian electro-folk band ‘Go_A’ first formed in 2012 in Kyiv. The group’s name means to “return to the roots”, and was made by combining the English word “go” with the Greek letter “Alpha” – symbolising the beginning of everything, wonderfully entwined with the groups unique approach to combining modernised electronic music with ethnic motifs.
After rising through the Ukrainian music scene, the band released their first album in 2016, titled “Idy na zvuk”, or “Follow the Tune” with Moon Records. They were announced in early 2020 to represent their country in that year’s Eurovision song contest, which was fatefully cancelled. Their band member Ihor Didenchuk won the contest the following year with his other band Kalush Orchestra.
Now, Go_A come to share their music live with the rest of the world, including a stop at the renowned Thekla, Bristol on 14th October 2022.
