De Staat has built a reputation as one of Europe’s most inventive and fearless live acts. With six studio albums and numerous live shows under their belt, the band has consistently pushed the boundaries of what a rock band can be. From the pounding rally cries of Witch Doctor to the razor-sharp commentary of KITTY KITTY, De Staat has long explored themes of demagoguery and mass manipulation. De Staat has played – and in some cases headlined – major festivals including SXSW, Glastonbury, Lowlands, Sziget, Boomtown, Rock for People, Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter and Deichbrand and toured with bands like The Rolling Stones, Muse, and Biffy Clyro. Their music – spanning industrial grooves, heavy riffs, experimental electronics, and pop sensibility – has been featured in global campaigns and games, winning Edison Awards, 3FM Awards, multiple music video awards, a Bernays Lifetime Achievement Award and international critical acclaim.
After two years of silence, De Staat returns with a long-awaited, seventh self-titled album, art installation and live show, marking nearly 25 years of pushing boundaries in the art rock landscape. Their latest creation taps into today’s dystopian anxieties like never before, where power, populism, and control collide, gradually erasing the line between reality and fiction. De Staat will tour across Europe and the UK in autumn 2026.
