2022 marks the start of My Nu Leng’s 2nd decade in electronic music. For their 11th year together, the Bristol duo have started a brand new record label and monthly residency at the Thekla boat, Wavelengths, with a distinct ‘back to the roots’ coherence taking inspiration from their formative years in electronic music.
The label outputs; a reflection of the ethos everyone has come to love in their performances – headsy selectors, anything goes, lively, soulful and rowdy with unexpected surprises.
Expect a barrage of releases in all the genres they play from Techno to Drum & Bass and everything between, and true to Leng form, using their platform to help others also releasing music from some very exciting artists in all these genres and showcasing them at the Wavelengths events.
Kicking off the monthly releases is ‘This Sound’ and marks a statement from My Nu Leng for what’s to come, blending old school influences with forward thinking production and signature punching dark basslines. ‘This Sound’ is one of only two records featuring long time collaborator in the live space, Dread MC and bringing through up and coming Kaya.
Putting them at the forefront of the niche they’ve carved out for themselves, Wavelengths represents freedom of expression and a clear definition of their ambitions to expand on their community and lead in cross-genre and cross-bpm electronic music.
Wavelengths is their new platform, their new home and we cannot wait to have you round for a long overdue knees-up.
