Madruga are back at Thekla after back-to-back sell-out shows on Bristol’s favourite party boat. Ahead of our debut Festival at Baskerville Hall we are bringing the party flavours with Shy One b2b OK Williams, Changing Currents & The Yard Woman.
Shy One lives and breathes the eclecticism and diversity of her DJ sets and productions. Having started off DJing on pirate radio at 13 years old, Shy One has continued to grow as an artist and diversify further into a somewhat undefinable sound that’s origins are undoubtedly London but takes in a huge variety of musical cultures, all of which are well represented on her various radio shows across stations like Balamii, NTS and Rinse FM.
OK Williams, a dynamic DJ hailing from southeast London, bringing their electrifying blend of UK funky, drill, techno, jungle, club, and house music. Not afraid to push boundaries and take risks, resulting in her sets being truly one-of-a-kind. DJing at festivals such as Field Maneuvers and Glastonbury, and a killer Boiler Room set, it’s clear that OK Williams has cemented herself in the UK scene and she’s not going anywhere.
Changing Currents has been breathing new life into club culture with a unique style unbound by genres, his aura is infectious and emanates across the dance floor. From selling out his own boat parties, playing on the streets of Brighton Pride 2022, to his residency at Patterns he has taken Brighton by storm and we can’t wait to invite him to Bristol for the first time. The Yard Woman is a Greek-born, Bristol-based DJ and producer. Her achievements speak for themselves. As a producer, her releases have found a home on DRK Records, COOD, Esset, Saffron and more with airwave support from BBC Radio 1 bringing her to the forefront of the UK dance music scene.
