We’re so happy to have you here in Bristol, and we look forward to putting on a MASSIVE season of club nights and concerts for you to enjoy. Come find us at both days of the UWE freshers fair to grab exclusive goodies and offers to use aboard the boat.
Thekla is a world-famous, multi award-winning live music venue and nightclub in the heart of Bristol’s city centre. Moored in the harbour as a converted German cargo ship, we have been in the city since 1984!
We’ve been busy all summer long preparing a huge series of club nights right up to the end of December for you to get involved with the city’s number one floating night club, get to know Thekla!
Mid-Week Events
We occasionally throw in huge mid-week parties on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, usually with a strong theme that you won’t find anywhere else. We’ve brought One Direction & 5SOS parties, nights of pure Musical numbers, and non-stop ABBA to our mid-weeks.
Pressure
Every single Thursday, we deliver two rooms of indie, rock and alternative bangers PLUS 2-4-1 drinks all night long. Offering free entry before 10PM, or the chance to skip the queue with an advance ticket from Fatsoma. Lovingly known as Thekla Thursdays, it’s the ultimate night out for those who fancy something a bit different. Make sure you get down to us early though as our queues can infamously long, sorry!
Fridays
We like to keep our Fridays different, and our clubbers on their toes. Each week Friday brings a different theme and genre. From collaborations with the UK’s most famous office – Dazed Muzic – to massive throwback events from the likes of internet friends for 2010s Pop & EDM goodness, Shameless for all the Y2K anthems you could ever need, or SLEAZE for remixed indie reviving an iconic era of indie clubbing.
Pop Confessional
Landing each Saturday all year long, Pop Confessional takes over the boat for all the guilty pop pleasures you’re too embarrassed to enjoy anywhere else. A pop night designed with you in mind, from the tune selection to the cheap drinks to partying on a boat until 4AM. Tickets can be booked on Fatsoma to skip the queue and guarantee entry, or tickets are available on the door all night (subject to wait times).
Gigs
All year long we host gigs from the world’s finest musicians. With heavy metal, indie, pop & folk being just some of the genres to grace our stage every night. As September kicks in, so does gig season. Almost every day we have something truly fresh down in the cargo hold so you can take in the best live music Bristol has to offer. All gigs can be found listed on the website, and tickets purchased through our official concert ticketing platform – Alt Tickets.
