Indie icon Jamie T comes to Thekla for a special show next month, an acoustic set to celebrate the launch of his first full album in six years, ‘The Theory of Whatever’. Whittled down from a whopping 180 songs, the new album is the first music we’ve heard from the artist since a collection of B-Sides released in 2018. First singles The Old Style Raiders and St George Wharf Tower give a hint of what’s to come, keeping up his trademark rapid verses and anthemic choruses. For the former track, Jamie worked with long-time collaborator Hugo White of The Maccabees to produce the track – giving it that push to an instant indie-pop classic.
In partnership with Rough Trade, this intimate show is a perfect place to catch the legendary singer-songwriter in a smaller venue and get up close and personal with Jamie, and is part of a collection of shows that make up Jamie’s first live shows in five years. You hear it a lot, but this is absolutely not a show to be missed.
