CLUB NIGHTS

The good ship Thekla plays host to some of the finest club nights in the South-West. Whatever you want from your night out, we've got a club to suit.

Our own Thekla nights run Mondays (during term-time), Thursdays and Saturdays with Gorilla Audio, Death From Above and Socialism respectively. And on Friday nights we have some of the biggest Bristol club nights on rotation with Fruity Antics, Play, Monkey!Knife!Fight!, Shoestring, Hospitality and the daddy of them all, Blowpop along with regular guest nights.

Death From Above is a weekly indie club night in Bristol. We have some of the best indie/electro/new-wave resident DJs in the West playing here for your listening pleasure. We also have plenty of live club shows from fresh new bands regularly. Be sure to check the listings for details.

Deliciously deep house for the discerning disco dancer. Probably the longest running and most loved house night in Bristol if not the uk, Fruity' emerged out of the South-Wests free party and club scene of the early 90`s. In 96 fruity antics started its first regular night at club loco in Bristol and quickly became one of the most popular nights in the city. It all started in December 2004 when a knife fighting monkey in Thailand turned his weapon on his human master. This sparked a chain reaction leading to a full on primate revolution. Luckily we discovered that music really does soothe the savage beast and a club night was created to appease these warring apes before the violence erupted in Bristol. The underground monkey fight club is doomed!

Bristol's legendary night of leftfield beats, breaks and electronica. BlowPop has been at the forefront of Bristol's club culture for the past five years. Launched by Dope on Plastic compiler John Stapleton at the Blue Mountain Club, the music policy reflected the upsurge in demand for dance music that broke with the house norm. Blowpop has established itself as the foremost place to hear new music in the West Country.
